I think there comes a point where you can feel the change in seasons when you’ve lived long enough in a place where the climate changes every 3 or 4 months. About three weeks ago we were blasted with a heat wave that left us wilted and poor once you receive your utility bill. Now only a few short weeks later we can feel the change in the season. Yes, there are several weeks of summer left and no doubt there is plenty of bathing suit wearing to be had. Yet we can feel it. The nights are cool and the days are warm. You no longer hear the hum of everyone’s air conditioner’s running and the air carries a cool temperature instead of just moving leaves.

While I was at the playground with the kids today I noticed that the Maple trees have felt the change too as they are starting to let go of their Maple Keys. Watching their little brown bodies helicopter to the ground I realize how fast life is passing. I feel like I was just¬†complaining about the snow and wishing for summer. And here it is, 2/3 of the way thru. Next time I see a Genie I’m going to use one of my wishes to slow life down a bit.
