Photo blog day 177, February 6, 2011

Good morning beautiful butterfly.

My photo club took a field trip to Magic Wings butterfly conservatory today. It was so wonderful to spend some time in a sunny warm place, I didn’t want to leave. I was standing looking upwards and as my eyes cast down my attention stopped on the glittery fuzz on the leaf. As I scanned the leaf checking the light as it flittered across the leaf I then saw this butterfly. I gasped and raised my camera. A voice behind me said “the see thru ones are the hardest to get”. “Why?” “Because they move so much and it’s hard to focus on them.” Sure enough as I pressed my shutter this one lifted off and flew away. At least I got a shot!

  1. Beautiful photo! I’ve been to Butterfly World in South Florida, but I didn’t see any clear butterflies there. Thanks for sharing.

  2. These guys never stood still. They were the hardest to shoot. Nice!!
