One of my all time favorite series of books is the Chronicles of Narnia, barely coming in second place on my list after the Nancy Drew series.  When I was an adolescent I would literally lose myself in the world of Narnia, experiencing the characters and dreaming of their world at night.  I pass this water fountain nearly every day on my way to work.  It rarely trickles water and I wouldn’t dare take a drink but the lion is charming.  I passed him this morning literally covered in snow and thought of the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe in which the world is stuck in a permanent winter.  This quote from the book sums up perfectly how I feel about winter right now:

Wrong will be right, when Aslan comes in sight,
At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more,
When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death,
And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again.
