Photo blog day sixty eight, October 20, 2010

Just because I think this is one of the coolest looking fruits.  I accidentally cut it the wrong way but the pattern on the inside was still just as neat.

Some pomegranate factoids found by typing Pomegranate into Google:

An entire pomegranate has about 100 calories and yields a little over a half cup of pomegranate seeds.

The antioxidant potential of the pomegranate fruit is thought to be up to three times higher than that of green tea and red wine.

Some Jewish Bible scholars believe the pomegranate, not the apple, was the forbidden fruit in the garden of Eden.  (hmm… interesting).
