This is the Simson Homestead I posted about twice before.  The house was moved from its original location to a new spot about 5 miles away in order to avoid demolition to build a new church.  The new owner has had nearly two years of anticipation waiting for this house to be brought home.  The house has been empty for some time and I am sure it awaits new life as much as the new owner wants to take care of it.  Here it is awaiting its final Homecoming.

HOME, SWEET HOME

by: John Howard Payne (1791-1852)

‘Mid pleasures and palaces though we may roam,
Be it ever so humble there’s no place like home!
A charm from the skies seems to hallow us there,
Which, seek through the world, is ne’er met with elsewhere.
Home! Home! Sweet, sweet home!
There’s no place like home!
There’s no place like home!

An exile from home splendor dazzles in vain;
Oh, give me my lowly thatch’d cottage again!
The birds singing gaily that came at my call;
Give me them with the peace of mind clearer than all.
Home! Home! Sweet, sweet home!
There’s no place like home!
There’s no place like home!
