Photo blog day sixty one, October 13, 2010

The beloved (to some) City of Homes, Springfield, MA is the placed I called home for nearly all my life.  I have worked there, lived there, been educated there, and was married and had my kids there.  I realized recently that I have spent plenty of time taking photos in the city but have never taken a photo of the city as a whole.  My photo club recently took a sunrise photo walk through the city and I was a little jealous of the Skyline shots they got (click here to link to my photo club website).  I was out at the Cranberry bogs that day (hey, maybe they’re jealous of the bog pictures?) So tonight I decided I would take a sunset photo from across the river and try to get the Memorial Bridge in it.  I quickly realized that a photo like that would have to wait until I had a police escort, or at least a burly guy to protect me.  Unfortunately, as in many cities across the country, the less traveled areas are less traveled for good reason.  I decided to play it safe and stay within the city limits but to get as high as I could.  I am happy with this photo but the next time my photo club wants to do a sunrise walk I’m definitely going so I can get one with the Connecticut River in it.
