Photo blog day FORTY! September 22, 2010

Alright, I’m sure I’ve said this in the past but I’ll say it again.  I. Do. Not. Like. Bugs.  Especially creepy crawly spiders.  But, that’s not to say I don’t like the beauty of the webs they weave.  After all, Charlotte’s Web was one of my favorite books/movies as a kid.  Nonetheless, I tread warily anyplace I might find these not-so-darling creatures.  I was out at the Quadrangle again at lunch time today and as I looked for a shot for the day I decided I would take shots of the iron fences surrounding the Quadrangle.  I got a couple generic looking shots and decided I would move in for some more close-up shots.  I looked through the view finder and gasped.  No really… an actual gasp followed promptly by a yelp.  I was NOT expecting this Spider Web.  Fortunately for me (or quite possibly the spider that may have met it’s impending death) the weaver of this web was not home.  This gave me a chance to appreciate the subject for it’s beauty instead of being paralyzed with fear.  The sun was directly over head and gave this web it’s glittery thread.  The only thing that would have made this a little more dreamy would have been some dew, alas, I did not even have a spray bottle to create some man-made dew.
