Photo blog day twenty-seven, September 9, 2010

Hard to believe but I was standing under the Surfside Pier only a few hours ago and now I’m back in chilly MA.  Oh well, vacation had to come to an end some time.  The reason I took this image isn’t so much for the composition or the subject, it was a chance to use an option on my camera that I didn’t fully understand until recently.  It’s called Auto Exposure lock.  I learned that if there is a difference in exposure in a scene you can lock your exposure on the part of the subject that you want to be lit correctly.  I think I did that successfully but now I have to figure out how to correct the over-exposed areas in editing software!  That will have to be another post.
